Truth is freeing. But truth is not often fun.
The truth is… I am a sinner, unable to save myself.
The truth is… I am destined to die, a lost cause on my own.
The truth hurts, it cuts, and only then, does it set us free. Without the honesty and transparency of truth, there is no catalyst to change.
- We will be liars until the truth reveals us.
- We will be addicts until truth exposes us.
- We will be obese until truth confronts us.
- We will be proud until truth humbles us.
You see, sometimes whether we’ll admit it or not, we like our sin. It’s known and it’s comfortable and we’re perfectly content to revel in it.
That’s why when truth shines light into our life, it hurts. It makes us mad. It messes us up.
The messy brokenness is when truth becomes Truth and that’s when Jesus heals us.
The truth will always set you free… But it’ll tick you off first.
What truth do you need to face today?
