Nebuchadnezzar was furious with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, and his attitude toward them changed. He ordered the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual and commanded some of the strongest soldiers in his army to tie up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and throw them into the blazing furnace.
Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers, “Weren’t there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?”
They replied, “Certainly, Your Majesty.”
He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.”
Following Jesus won’t make your life easy. It won’t automatically take away all the pain or the problems. In fact, it will actually complicate things.
Satan will attack. Through your friends, your family and whatever is close to you. He’ll grab a hold of the closest thing to your heart and twist until you feel the pressure. It’ll hurt. It’ll burn. And it’ll open the door to the best opportunity you’ve ever had to spread the Kingdom of God.
The world will never see Jesus more clearly than when you find yourself standing in the fire, under attack from the enemy.
So STAND. Risk the flames to answer the call.
