This weekend, CCCJ is in Week 2 of our series, “The Generosity Experiment.” As we’re looking forward to everything God is going to say this weekend, here’s a few thoughts on living generously in a greedy world:
Generosity breeds contentment. Greed spawns stress.
Generosity gives. Greed takes.
Generosity blesses. Greed hoards.
Generosity is selfless. Greed is selfish.
Generosity is godliness in practice. Greed is Satan in action.
One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. People curse the one who hoards grain, but they pray God’s blessing on the one who is willing to sell. (Proverbs 11:24-26)
Normal people value THINGS over PEOPLE. But weird people value GENEROSITY over GREED.
Be weird… Be an alien in a foreign land… Be in the world but not of the world…
Be generous in a greedy world.
